Recently, a bunch of Rory's old, wild tweets resurfaced. And we're not talking about a couple of slick jokes. We're talking about dozens of reportedly "racist and hateful" tweets, including some crazy, disrespectful shots at Beyoncé.
Now, here's the "No Filter" part: After the tweets came out, Rory and his co-hosts hopped on an X Space, he did some damage control, and... that was it. It's like the whole thing just disappeared.
But we have to ask the real question: Why does RORY get a pass?!
Let's be 100% honest. If I had old tweets like that, if you watching this had old tweets like that, or if any Black commentator in this space had a history of saying hateful things... WE'D GET CANCELLED!
Our careers would be over. The blogs would be calling for our heads. The think pieces would be written. We'd be done.
So, why is it that he gets to just say "my bad" and keep it moving, while the rest of us are held to a completely different standard? On this segment, I'm breaking down this "pass" that some people get. Is it about who your friends are? Is it about what you look like? Or is it just that "cancel culture" only picks and chooses who it wants to destroy?
