"Larry Smith does not get his flowers," Dre stated. "Larry Smith, to me, is the greatest hip-hop producer ever. He did Whodini, he did Run-DMC, all of the music that inspired us when we was coming up... Fat Boys, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow. He did all of those records that inspired us when we were young. Larry Smith is the f*ing best hip-hop producer ever, point blank."
When the architect of G-Funk, N.W.A, Death Row, and Aftermath speaks on production royalty, you expect him to name Quincy Jones, Rick Rubin, DJ Premier, or even himself—so when Dr. Dre names an overlooked pioneer as the undisputed best ever, class is officially in session! Let’s get active on The Rundown!
Stop letting the internet rewrite hip-hop history! When Dr. Dre calls you the greatest to ever touch a mixing board, that is the ultimate stamp of approval! 🎥🔥
